How do I choose between 304 and 316 stainless steel?

Look at chloride exposure. For general outdoor and damp environments, 304 is sufficient; for coastal salt spray, chemical corrosion, electroplating, and pharmaceutical cleaning media, choose 316/316L — molybdenum significantly improves pitting resistance. You are trading a higher price for longer service life, which is usually worthwhile in highly corrosive applications.

Which is more cost-effective: powder-coated cold-rolled steel or stainless steel?

For dry indoor environments, powder-coated cold-rolled steel offers the best value, and putting the savings into components is the better investment; for outdoor or corrosive environments, stainless steel often has a lower life-cycle cost (including replacement and downtime). Evaluate over a 5-year-plus life cycle, not just unit price.

How do I choose enclosure sheet thickness?

Common practice: door panels 1.5–2.0mm, enclosure body 1.2–1.5mm, frame and mounting rails ≥2.0mm; large floor-standing cabinets and heavy-duty wall-mounted units are reinforced based on structural calculation. The larger the dimensions and the greater the span, the more critical sheet thickness and stiffening ribs become.

Can you powder-coat to a specified RAL color code?

Yes. Standard colors such as RAL7035 light gray are the default; any RAL color code can be sprayed per project, with film thickness 60–80μm and curing at 200℃×30min. Color samples can be retained for verification against each production batch.
