Pendant control boxes

Put the operator panel right where the operator's hands are
Model GU-EN-SA · Load 20–60 kg · Enclosure rotates 360° · Cables run inside the arm · MOQ 1 unit
A cantilever control box = operator enclosure + cantilever system: the base mounts on the machine tool or frame, and 1–2 hollow rotating articulated arm sections extend it outward. The enclosure rotates 360° at the arm end with position self-locking, putting the HMI, pushbuttons and emergency stop directly in front of where the operator stands. All cables run through the hollow bore inside the arm — nothing exposed, nothing dragging on the floor. Load is 20–60 kg, selected by arm length and enclosure weight. No bending or standing on tiptoe for machine-side operation — that is the one job this product has to do.
  • System: base + 1–2 articulated arm sections + enclosure; arm lengths 400–1200 mm in combination
  • Rotation: joints rotate 360° with position self-locking; enclosure height set by the operator station
  • Cable routing: all cables run through the hollow bore inside the arm, no exposed or dragging cable
  • Load: 20–60 kg calculated from arm length and enclosure weight, with a 1.5 safety factor
  • Enclosure: sheet metal / cast aluminum / stainless steel; panel cutouts per the component drawing

Build details

Systems have been in service for decades, and the failure points are always the same few: poor busbar contact, water ingress at the door seal, high temperature rise in the correction cabinet, and mis-phased outgoing feeders. The six hard rules below are written for exactly these points — every cabinet can be traced to them.

Cable routed inside the arm

No exposed cable — non-negotiable

Cables run through the hollow bore of each arm section and rotate with the joint without pinching — exposed trailing cable under continuous rotation will chafe through eventually; every unit ships only after a full-rotation check confirms no interference.

1.5x load test

What hangs on the arm end stays on the arm end

Static load test at 1.5x rated load for 10 minutes: arm-end deflection ≤3 mm with no permanent deformation. The load selection table applies a length-based derating with full safety margin; oversized-load requests are declined outright.

Position self-locking

The box stays where you put it

The joint rotates 360° with ratchet or friction self-locking — the operator pushes it into position, lets go, and it does not spring back. A cantilever box without self-locking wobbles during operation and ruins the button feel.

Replaceable panel

Change the layout, keep the box

The panel is independent of the enclosure. When the component layout is revised, only the panel is replaced and re-punched; the arm system and enclosure shell stay in service.

Logic stays in the main cabinet

No hidden surprises inside the box

We recommend using the box as a pure operator panel and keeping logic in the main cabinet: a cantilever box sees high vibration and has limited space, so stuffing relays and power supplies into it puts failure points in the hardest-to-service location.

Section-by-section bonding

Every rotating part must be grounded

The box, each arm section, and the base are bonded section by section with braided wire — rotating parts are floating metal, and skipping one section creates a ground fault point.

08 — FAQ

Six questions procurement and electrical engineers ask most

How heavy a box can the cantilever carry?

Arm-end load is 20–60 kg, but it derates with arm length — a 1,000 mm dual arm has a noticeably lower actual limit than a 600 mm single arm. Send us the box dimensions and component list, and we will calculate against the selection table; if it is overloaded, we will tell you straight to change the approach.

Will the box wobble?

The joint has position self-locking — push it into position, let go, and it does not spring back. A wobbling cantilever box is either overloaded or has no self-locking; we enforce both of these in our factory inspection.

Will the cable chafe at the rotating point?

Cables run through the hollow bore inside the arm and rotate with the joint through the full range. Before shipment, every unit undergoes a full-travel rotation check for no interference and no pinching. We do not build exposed-cable routing.

Can I buy just the arm system and make my own box?

Yes. The arm system and box ship separately. We provide the arm-end flange dimension drawing, and your box interfaces to the flange.

How do I choose between this and a wall-mount enclosure?

If the operator position is fixed and cabling runs along the wall, choose a wall-mount box. If the operator needs to walk around the equipment and the panel needs to follow, choose a cantilever. Many installations end up as a main cabinet plus cantilever operator station combination.

What is the lead time?

Standard arm sections with a standard enclosure: 15–20 days. Special arm lengths or stainless steel enclosures: within 25 days. Volume supply schedules are quoted separately.
