Maintenance power boxes
- Sockets: CEE industrial sockets (3P+E / 2P+E), keyed against mismating, mechanically retained, IP54 cover

Five steps to specify your run

Build details
Systems have been in service for decades, and the failure points are always the same few: poor busbar contact, water ingress at the door seal, high temperature rise in the correction cabinet, and mis-phased outgoing feeders. The six hard rules below are written for exactly these points — every cabinet can be traced to them.
One-to-one ground fault protection
Independent ground fault module per circuit: a fault on one circuit trips only that circuit, the rest keep running. A single main ground fault device costs less, but one trip shuts everything down — the last thing you want on a maintenance site.
No exposed sockets
Every socket gets a splash guard, so rain and dust stay out through the plug-in gap. Interlocked guard-and-socket designs are preferred, with no reduction in mis-insertion protection.
Water stays out
Outdoor doors use top hinges: rain runs off the door instead of into the box; the door gasket seals to IP54 or better.
PE first
Enclosure grounding terminals are labeled and placed up front, and the PE-to-enclosure bond is continuity-tested on every unit — on temporary power, the worst case is an energized enclosure nobody knows about.
Ground fault test button pressed on every unit
Every ground fault module is factory-tested by pressing the test button, one by one, verified to trip at 30 mA with no compromise; both trip and no-trip results are recorded.
Rubber cable + reel
Mobile units come with rubber-sheathed cable and a reel, so cable stays organized and off wet ground; the reel has a brake and locks as soon as it is pulled out.

Six questions procurement and electrical engineers ask most
How is a CEE socket different from a standard socket?
CEE industrial sockets have keyed slots that prevent mismating (different voltages use different pin configurations, so you can't plug into the wrong supply), mechanical retention (they don't work loose under vibration), and a high splash rating. Their plug/cycle life is an order of magnitude higher than residential sockets. This is the long-standing standard for industrial environments — don't use residential power strips on the shop floor.
What does 30 mA ground fault protection actually mean?
30 mA is the threshold for human safety: a ground fault above 30 mA trips in milliseconds, cutting power before a person is electrocuted. Each circuit on the maintenance box has its own 30 mA protection, so a fault on one circuit only shuts down that circuit — other workstations keep running.
How do I choose between portable and wall-mounted?
If the power take-off point is fixed, go wall-mounted (workshops, warehouses). If the work area moves (construction sites, shipyards, large-scale maintenance), go portable with wheels and rubber-sheathed cable. For portable units, add a cable reel — cables dragged on the ground and sitting in water are the number one cause of electrical shock on job sites.
Can I use it with a welding machine?
Manual welding machines can draw power from it without issue (size the socket and protection to the welder's input current). But the welder's own high inrush current can nuisance-trip the ground fault module — for welder circuits, specify a high-immunity ground fault device or a dedicated circuit, and state the application when ordering.
Can I add metering?
Yes: total metering (for billing) or branch-circuit metering (for internal cost allocation). The meter is supplied to the owner's or utility's specification; we provide the meter position and wiring.
Will condensation form outdoors in winter?
Yes — the day-night temperature swing is the main cause. For outdoor and cold-chain environments, specify an anti-condensation heater with thermostat control. No condensation inside the enclosure means no corrosion on components. The heater draws very little power and does not compromise the overall ingress protection.
