Rittal-style enclosures

Build a European/US-standard cabinet frame from profile sections
Model GU-9F · 9-fold profile frame · modular cutouts · IP54/65 · MOQ 1 unit
A Rittal-style cabinet is a frame-type cabinet built from 9-fold profile sections. It shares the same origin as European/US-standard cabinets such as the original brand: the profile section is nine-fold formed for high strength, cutouts follow a modular grid, cabinets bay flexibly, and standard accessories fit inside. What buyers want from this cabinet is not a brand — it is that modular, expandable, standardized structural system. We get three things right — the 9-fold profile, the 25 mm modular grid, and standard accessory mounting positions — so the cabinet interchanges with European/US-standard cabinet accessories.
  • Frame: welded 9-fold profile frame, high strength and rigidity, cabinet body resists deformation
  • Modular grid: 25 mm modular cutouts, standard accessories such as mounting plates, DIN rails, and wire ducts interchange
  • Baying: frame has baying holes, multiple cabinets bay side by side for flexible expansion
  • Customization: size, door type, cutouts, and powder-coat color built to drawing
  • Protection: IP54 standard / IP65 optional, door seam gasket

Build details

Systems have been in service for decades, and the failure points are always the same few: poor busbar contact, water ingress at the door seal, high temperature rise in the correction cabinet, and mis-phased outgoing feeders. The six hard rules below are written for exactly these points — every cabinet can be traced to them.

9-fold

9-fold formed profile

The profile section is 9-fold formed, giving higher strength and better rigidity than ordinary square tube. A stable frame is what keeps doors and accessories aligned and serviceable over time.

25 mm

Modular perforations

The uprights have 25 mm modular perforations, compatible with mounting plates, DIN rails and wire ducts. This is also the biggest difference between a Rittal-style cabinet and an ordinary welded cabinet — standardized and expandable.

Cabinet joining

Frame with bayed-cabinet holes

The frame has pre-drilled bayed-cabinet holes so multiple cabinets can be bayed side by side. Expansion doesn't require building a new cabinet — just bay it on.

Universal

Interchangeable accessories

The structure follows the modular pattern of European and US standard cabinets, so accessories such as DIN rails, wire ducts and mounting plates are interchangeable with standard cabinets. Sourcing spares for later maintenance won't leave you stuck.

Powder coating

Color specified to RAL

Electrostatic powder coating, with color specified to the RAL chart (common colors such as 7035). On batch engineering projects, what matters is consistent color.

Custom build

Dimensions and structure to drawing

Dimensions, door type, cutouts and internal structure are all built to drawing. The value of a Rittal-style cabinet lies in the structural system, not in fixed dimensions.

Standard width: multiple angles

The standard width version is the regular-width build. Below are shop-floor photos taken from several angles around the enclosure, so you can review door fabrication, the coupling face and internal layout against your drawings.

08 — FAQ

Six questions procurement and electrical engineers ask most

What is the difference between a Rittal-style cabinet and an original-brand cabinet?

The structural system comes from the same origin: both use a 9-fold profile frame, 25 mm module and standard interchangeable accessories. The difference is brand and country of origin. What we build is a profile cabinet to the same standard, with accessories interchangeable with standard cabinets and a cost advantage.

Can the cabinets be bayed?

Yes. The frame has pre-drilled bayed-cabinet holes, so multiple cabinets can be bayed side by side for flexible expansion. The number of bayed cabinets depends on your system requirements — we provide the baying plan.

Are the accessories interchangeable with standard cabinets?

Yes. DIN rails, wire ducts and mounting plates are made to the 25 mm module and are interchangeable with European and US standard cabinet accessories. Later maintenance and add-ons won't send you hunting for non-standard parts.

Can dimensions and color be customized?

Yes. Dimensions, door type, cutouts, internal structure, and powder-coat color are all built to drawing. Colors are specified per the RAL color card, and color stays consistent across production runs on engineering projects.

Can it hold 19-inch equipment?

Yes. We fit a 19-inch mounting frame for network equipment and servers. We build this type of cabinet too, sharing the same frame system as our control cabinets and distribution cabinets.

What do you need for a quote?

Application, cabinet type (wall-mounted / floor-standing / multi-cabinet lineup), dimensions or bill of materials, ingress protection (IP) rating, door type and color requirements, and whether you need a viewing window or 19-inch frame. Drawings are best if you have them.
