Build details
Systems have been in service for decades, and the failure points are always the same few: poor busbar contact, water ingress at the door seal, high temperature rise in the correction cabinet, and mis-phased outgoing feeders. The six hard rules below are written for exactly these points — every cabinet can be traced to them.
Full-power burn-in before shipment
The complete cabinet runs a 24-hour powered burn-in. It ships only after the IPC, UPS, network and communication have all run through without a fault, so early-life failures are caught in our plant.
Power, network and signal kept apart
Power, network and signal are routed in separate tiers and separate ducts, so power-side interference never reaches the data cables. Stable networking is what data acquisition depends on.
Every device traceable
The IP and MAC addresses of every IPC, PLC and switch are recorded in the IP address schedule that ships with the cabinet, so on-site troubleshooting does not mean digging through configurations.
Safe shutdown on power loss
The UPS communication cable is wired to the IPC. On power loss it automatically triggers the safe shutdown sequence, so acquired data is written to disk with no gaps.
Bracket and rail share the load
The IPC is not carried by the rails alone; a bracket takes part of the load. Fixing straps are added for transport, so it does not arrive on site needing repair.
Hot zone and cold zone separated
Airflow baffles separate the UPS hot zone from the IPC hot zone, each with its own intake and exhaust, holding the temperature rise inside the cabinet within 15 K.

Six questions procurement and electrical engineers ask most
How is an industrial PC different from a commercial desktop?
Vibration-resistant construction, wide-temperature components, long lifecycle (same model supplied for 5–7 years), industrial interfaces and a watchdog. Commercial machines are cheaper, but in a shop-floor environment their failure rate rises noticeably within one to two years, and the downtime loss far exceeds the price difference. For data acquisition we recommend fanless models — no fan means no first point of failure.
Do you supply the acquisition and reporting software?
We handle everything up to system commissioning and communications bring-up (acquisition channel configuration, historian ready). Business reports and SCADA screens can be implemented by your software vendor, or we can configure basic reports using lightweight configuration software — scope depends on the complexity of your requirements.
How big a UPS do I need?
Sized on the actual power draw of the IPC + monitor + network equipment. A standard 15–30 minutes of backup is enough for a safe shutdown; if you need to keep running through an outage, we scale up accordingly. The power list is itemized in the proposal.
Can you acquire data from different PLC brands?
All mainstream brands work: Siemens via S7 / OPC UA, Schneider / Mitsubishi / Inovance via Modbus or OPC, and mixed setups unified through a gateway. Send us your PLC list and we will provide the communications plan and IP layout.
Can you do remote debugging?
We can reserve a VPN remote debugging port (4G or network access). From Tonglu we can remotely view data and troubleshoot, saving you a site visit. On the security side, only the debugging channel is opened — control stays on site.
What if the cabinet sits in a workshop with heavy dust?
Choose a fanless IPC + positive-pressure filtered air duct + IP54 enclosure, with filter media on both intake and exhaust. For harsher conditions (foundry, woodworking dust), move the IPC to a server room and leave only acquisition modules on the shop floor.
