Touchscreen / HMI control cabinets

Put your hands on the process, not the cabinet
Model GU-HMI · 7–15 in. industrial touchscreen · Siemens / Schneider / Weinview · MOQ 1 unit
An HMI control cabinet mounts an industrial touchscreen in the door or on an operator panel, turning PLC process status, alarm history and parameter settings into a touch interface. The screen cutout is CNC-machined to the panel drawing and the door gasket achieves IP65. Screens are configured to your operating routine — frequent actions one tap away, alarms pushed by priority, historical trends exportable. The screen talks to the PLC over Ethernet or serial, with communication parameters marked on the drawings so nothing is guessed on site.
  • Screen: 7–15 in. industrial touchscreen, mainstream brands including Siemens / Schneider / Weinview
  • Mounting: flush in the cabinet door, CNC cutout + IP65 door gasket
  • Configuration: four standard screen types — main / parameter setting / alarms / trends — customized to the process
  • Communication: Ethernet (S7 / Modbus TCP) or serial (Modbus RTU), pre-wired when supplied in the same cabinet as the PLC
  • Access levels: two levels, operator / engineer; critical parameters changed at engineer level

Build details

Systems have been in service for decades, and the failure points are always the same few: poor busbar contact, water ingress at the door seal, high temperature rise in the correction cabinet, and mis-phased outgoing feeders. The six hard rules below are written for exactly these points — every cabinet can be traced to them.

±0.3 mm

CNC-machined cutout tolerance

Screen cutouts are CNC-machined to ±0.3 mm, so the screen seats flat with no lifting edges and no water ingress; the IP65 door gasket seals all the way around.

One page, direct access

Screens built around the operating sequence

Routine operations are completed in one step on the main screen, with no digging through nested menus; alarm pop-ups stay on top until acknowledged, so an operator is up to speed after ten minutes of training.

Tested together in the same cabinet

Screen and PLC communicate before shipment

The screen and PLC are matched at the factory and tested together in the same cabinet before shipment, so the system runs as soon as power is applied on site — no separate commissioning.

Source files

Configuration files ship with the cabinet

Configuration source files and the tag list ship with the cabinet, so future screen changes or a screen replacement don't start from scratch.

Screen down, line still running

Quick-lock door opening structure

The HMI is secured with quick-lock clips, so the panel cable stays connected when the cabinet door is opened for service, reducing connector wear from repeated plugging.

Two-level access control

Critical parameters stay under control

Operators can only start, stop and view data. Setpoints and PID parameters can only be changed at engineer level, keeping operating errors behind a password.

08 — FAQ

Six questions procurement and electrical engineers ask most

How do I choose a touchscreen brand?

Look at ecosystem and budget: if the equipment uses a Siemens PLC, pair it with a Siemens HMI (smoothest compatibility); for general Modbus applications, Weinview offers strong value and fast domestic service; Schneider for its own ecosystem. Price for the same size can differ by up to 3x — tell us your PLC model and budget and we will help you choose.

Do you create the HMI screens?

Yes. You provide the process flow and operating habits (or let us design from the I/O list). Four standard screen types (main / parameters / alarms / trends) plus custom pages, confirmed by screenshot before shipment. Source files ship with the goods so you can modify them later.

How do we replace an HMI on site if it fails?

The door cutout is made to the HMI maker's standard mounting dimensions, so a same-model HMI drops straight in. The configuration program can be loaded from a USB drive or remotely. We ship a configuration backup and recovery procedure with the goods.

How do the HMI and PLC communicate?

When supplied in the same cabinet, Ethernet or serial wiring is pre-installed inside the cabinet and the communication parameters are written into the drawings. For cross-cabinet or cross-room runs, note the distance and we will select cable / fiber / wireless.

Can it be used outdoors or in dusty environments?

The front panel is IP65, and the cabinet is upgraded to suit the environment (IP65 enclosure, anti-condensation heater, stainless steel enclosure). For very cold or hot locations, choose a wide-temperature HMI (-20 to 60 °C) and state the installation environment when ordering.

Can it run alongside a higher-level SCADA system?

Yes. If the PLC has enough communication ports, the HMI and SCADA can poll data in parallel. If ports are short or the distance is long, add a communication module or gateway on the PLC side — this will be stated clearly in the proposal.
