Double-door enclosures
- Configuration: 800–1200 mm wide dual front doors, or 600 mm and up with front + rear doors (maintenance type)
- Locking: three-point interlocking lock (top, center and bottom compression points), with a vertical post supporting the center on wide enclosures
- Sealing: full-perimeter foamed gasket on the door frame; dual gasket runs butt and compress at the center seam of double doors
- Zoning: front door operating zone + rear door maintenance zone; maintenance does not interrupt operation on the operating face
- Protection: IP54 standard / IP65 optional (GB 4208 / IEC 60529)

Build details
Systems have been in service for decades, and the failure points are always the same few: poor busbar contact, water ingress at the door seal, high temperature rise in the correction cabinet, and mis-phased outgoing feeders. The six hard rules below are written for exactly these points — every cabinet can be traced to them.
The pivot that keeps wide doors from sagging
A fixed vertical post runs down the center of the double front doors, and each door presses its own gasket against one side of that post. Without this post, the middle of a wide door sags and pulls the center seam gasket open.
One turn, three points clamped
A single turn of the lock cylinder clamps the top, middle and bottom points at once, so the gasket around the door frame is loaded evenly. A single-point lock on a 2 m tall cabinet will always be loose at the bottom and tight at the top.
Still true after ten years of opening and closing
Every cabinet is checked for door-end sag after the door has been held open at 90°. The hinge reinforcement plate on the door leaf and the hinge point sets this number. A door out of tolerance will stop closing properly within three years.
No live parts on the operating face
The partition between the front and rear compartments has a grommeted cable pass-through. The operator tightens terminals on the front side while the live parts stay behind the partition. Zoning is not a marketing word — it is this steel plate.
Separate maintenance access
The front door operating lock and the rear door maintenance lock can be supplied with different keys, so maintenance access is controlled separately and the wrong door is not opened by mistake.
Static does not build up on the door
Each door is individually bonded to the frame with a braided strap. A door is a moving part — leave it unbonded and it is a floating metal component.

Six questions procurement and electrical engineers ask most
Why must a wide cabinet have double doors?
Above 800 mm, a single door is heavy and puts an offset load on the hinges, so it visibly sags after repeated opening and closing. With double front doors, each leaf weighs half as much, and the three-point lock pulls it tight. This is not a cost trade-off — it is basic structural sense.
Do both front and rear doors need to be opened often?
No. The front door is the operation face and stays closed in normal service; the rear door is for maintenance. The whole point of a compartment layout is that maintenance never touches the operation face, so the HMI stays powered.
Will water seep through the center seam?
Two seals butt and compress against both sides of the vertical post, and the compression mark is checked cabinet by cabinet for a continuous run all the way around — far more reliable than a single seal butted together at the door gap.
Can both doors use one key?
Yes — either a common key or two separate keys. We recommend two keys: the front door for the operator, the rear door for the electrician, so access is clearly divided.
Is an inner door (three-layer construction) necessary?
Where live parts on the operation face need protection — public areas, or workshops where non-electricians may come into contact — we recommend adding an inner door. In a closed electrical room, it can be simplified.
Is lead time the same as a single-door cabinet?
Yes, 15–25 days. The extra door and vertical post work fits within normal scheduling, with no expedite fee and no impact.
