Lighting in hazardous areas cannot use a PZ30 lighting box the way an ordinary factory building does — it must use anexplosion-proof (flameproof or increased-safety) lighting distribution box, with miniature circuit breakers or fuses inside to feed branch circuits to explosion-proof luminaires (such as BAD85), with on-cover switching and signal indication. Yes, but they must be onexplosion-proof receptacle circuits, and receptacles must be on separate circuits from the lighting, with dedicated protection for the receptacles.

Do LED explosion-proof lights help with the temperature class?

Yes. LEDs generate far less heat than metal halide lamps, so the enclosure surface temperature more easily meets T4/T6 — saving energy while reducing selection difficulty.

Can a lighting panel be installed in Zone 1?

You can select Ex d products rated EPL Gb for Zone 1; Ex e lighting panels are only suitable for Zone 2.
