1. Overcurrent Faults (most common · 3 root causes)

The overcurrent fault code usually reads F0001 / Overcurrent / OC, and it is themost frequent VFD fault. It breaks down into 3 root causes:

① First check whether the motor current at the time of the fault exceeds the VFD rated current → if yes, inspect the load; ② Disconnect the motor and run no-load → if normal, the problem is the motor or wiring; ③ If it still trips at no load → VFD hardware fault (IGBT failure), return for repair.

2. Overvoltage Fault (Overvoltage) (DC bus overvoltage)

Overvoltage fault code F0002 / Overvoltage / OU, occurs duringdeceleration braking. When the motor decelerates it acts as a generator, and the regenerative energy is fed back to the VFD DC bus, exceeding the overvoltage threshold (approximately DC820V for a 380V VFD) and tripping.

  4. Load factor too high: the motor runs at full load continuously → increase the VFD by one power rating or improve ventilation.
