The first hurdle for electrical cabinets in a pharmaceutical plant is cleanliness: (1) the enclosure must be 304 / 316L stainless steel with rounded corners and ground welds, and no liquid-trapping dead spots on the surface, because the plant is washed down and sanitized on a regular schedule; (2) the equipment process must be verifiable — parameters at every step (temperature, time, speed) must be recorded and traceable, and recipe management must use tiered access levels; (3) some equipment includes CIP clean-in-place, where valve sequencing and pump interlock logic are lengthy.
